The Power of Words

My business affords me the privilege of talking to a LOT of people, and I am sometimes baffled that many of my conversations reveal that there are a LOT of people who do not feel deserving of a better life.... people who think they are unworthy.

Fulfilling our purpose and pursuing our passion are dreams that get lost in adulthood, because we're forced into social constraints and expectations that keep us going to jobs we hate, staying in relationships that don't treat us well, and becoming addicted to substances and behaviours that don't serve our health and well-being.

We are now reported to be the most stressed, depressed, overweight, and over-medicated population in history and I think it's because we're inundated with messages from mainstream media that keep telling us we're never good enough.  These messages feed our self-talk and that negative narrative then runs in a loop in our brains every day.  Is it any wonder that we are feeling stressed and depressed?!

I encourage you to start talking to yourself like you talk to your best friend.  Our words fuel our thoughts, and our thoughts create our vibes (our energy), and our vibes give us our results. Start telling yourself "I love you" every day, and see how quickly you'll start to feel better.

The power of our words is very powerful. The author of Aspire, Kevin Hall, sums it up nicely.

Til next time, wishing you Genshai.
Your perpetually positive pal,
