There are a lot of things I miss about Canada... my family, my friends, English television :-)
Actually, I didn't watch a lot of TV in Canada. When I did make an effort to watch anything, it was normally Oprah or Ellen. I could usually count on a feel-good moment, whenever I tuned into their shows.
It's hard to believe Oprah is kicking off her 24th year of production. As part of the celebration, Chicago coordinated a flash-dance of 21,000 people to the Black Eyed Peas, "I Got A Feeling." It was an amazing collaboration.
It would be great if we could get those same 21,000 people to participate in a group meditation for world peace and abundance for all. Four-thousand people proved group meditation worked, in a 1993 study to reduce violent crime in Washington, DC. In a 2-month controlled study period, the violent crime rate was reduced by 48%, as the result of the focused and consistent thoughts of 4-thousand people to reduce stress and increase coherence in the District. Amazing, eh?
Here's wishing you increased coherence and reduced stress.

We Are Good Enough
I'm reading a great book by Nick Williams....
As I persist in this journey of personal growth, I'm contemplating self-belief (or, as I've discovered, my lack of it). I spent the bulk of my adult life as a journalist, and was perceived as having all the trappings of success. But, I never actually felt successful.
In his book, Nick says (and I'm paraphrasing here), "so much of the world of personal development is founded upon the idea that we are broken and need fixing. We are forever trying to get to an imaginary finish line where someone gives us a medal that says we are now finally good enough."
So, my question is, when do we finally feel good enough?
I'm practicing daily affirmations, to replace my limiting beliefs with empowering ones. I also make it a point to fill my day with as many positive thoughts and images as possible.
Enjoy the following couple of minutes, and maybe think about your own list of affirmations.

Know For Yourself
False and misleading information is everywhere. I can't even check my email without being inundated with bad news headlines.
Most of our news is now delivered and controlled by three American conglomerates. The concentration of media ownership tends to fuel biased reporting, and - more often - it is designed to instill doubt, fear, and a general sense of unknowingness in society.
Corporate downsizing is common-place, and is merely an economic tactic to place a ceiling on the incomes of the workers who actually DO all the work.
Never before have people been so eager to experience a breakthrough than right now. People are more educated, and less likely to tolerate these volatile days of corporate manipulation.
It's been wonderful to observe the impact the Know For Yourself DVD is having on the marketplace. The Polaris Media Group's 60-minute feature details how a person can break free from the inundation of false and misleading information.
Know For Yourself is now in second production, with an additional 100,000 copies each available in English and English with Spanish subtitles. The demand for this information has been incredible.
The ability to Know for Yourself is paramount to success. It is the core of fundamental decision making, and a person’s ability to choose for themselves a path for their own personal success and fulfillment.
Rather than seeking, or following, a guru (and the personal development marketplace is filled with them – divorcees giving marriage advice, failed businessmen giving success advice, etc.), a person can develop their own personal ability to be their own guru and have the confidence of their own knowingness.
A wise young man once said that opportunities come through other people.
Please take this opportunity to Know For Yourself... your personal coupon is 144306.

Overcoming Obstacles
Recently, in a televised dance competition - a unique couple won one of the top prizes and received the longest standing ovation.
She was a dancer, who had trained since she was a child. Tragically, she lost her entire arm in an accident and fell into a state of depression. She decided to coach a children's dancing group. From that point on, she realized she could not forget dancing. She still loved to dance and wanted to dance again. She tried to do some of her former routines, but - without her arm - she had difficulty maintaining balance. She practiced strenuously and developed a dance routine - always dancing alone in her studio.
He was not a dancer. He lost a leg in an accident and he had fallen into a deep state of depression. They met - and her goal immediately became to help him become positive about life again. She taught him to dance, and in her studio they danced together and developed a routine as their lives and friendship became closer. Their life together - behind the closed doors of the dance studio - was one creativity, challenge, determination, practice, and sometimes failure. Their focus was on doing what others said would be impossible. Several times it became so difficult and frustrating for them that they gave up, broke up.
But life alone, without each other, brought them back together again and they became even more determined to perfect a dance routine to a point where they might try to dance outside the studio to see what friends and family thought about what they were doing all that time inside the studio. Their friends and family were so supportive, they encouraged the couple to enter a dance competition. Only later did they realize the competition was to be televised locally.
We will now see the first and, to date, only televised performance of their dance...
Wishing you a wonderful day!

Some Excellent Reading
People often ask me what kind of books I enjoy, so here are a few of my favourites.
Scott Peck's book was my first journey into personal growth. I was in my late teens at the time (and not even sure what prompted me to buy it), but it certainly changed the course of my life.
John Lavenia's book is incredible for anyone who is ready to hear and accept the truth about success and failure. I work with John. He's certainly a man who lives by his words.
Eckhart's book is an awakening. I'm now reading his follow-up, A New Earth, for the third time.

Gotta love them spires

Lance and I just returned from a weekend in Barcelona. I spent Saturday in an intense 12-hour conference, while Lance put on some walking shoes and covered the City of Barcelona. Yep, he was about as exhausted as I was, at the end of the day. Well, okay... he was probably a tad more tired than I was :-)
There is an abundance of architecture in Barcelona influenced by Gaudi (and, you either love him or hate him). One thing's for sure... he sure did love his spires.
You can see the entire photo album of Barcelona on facebook http://www.facebook.com/ I'm pretty sure I've set up my settings so anyone can view my pics: tanya macintyre
My conference was extraordinary. Our company has just launched an intro DVD to our new personal development curriculum. You can take advantage of coupon code 144306 to get your copy here http://www.knowforyourself.com/

Finally... a GOOD NEWS network
When I packed up my career in journalism, most of my friends were shocked. How could I walk away from what had essentially been my lifeblood for more than 20 years?
Well, it was actually pretty easy.
I had become literally sick of being immersed in bad news everyday. I took a 6-week medical leave from my job as news director, and did some serious searching while I healed my disillusioned soul. I was searching for meaning, for substance, for the answer to "who am I?"
Other questions I posed to myself during this time were...
Do I love my life?
What do I stand for?
Am I the best possible person I can be?
If I could have anything in the World what would it be?
I often said to people, "if anyone ever starts a "good news" network, I'll be the first one in line to join."
It was no coincidence that brought me to where I am today... living in Spain with my Prince of a husband; living a life of freedom and abundance, and now belonging to a group of remarkably successful and generous entrepreneurs.
I am truly blessed to be part of this global movement that will enrich countless lives in countless ways.
The official launch is set for September 9th (09/09/09).
Team Europe's pre-launch is in Barcelona on September 5th. You can get the event details on my website.
