Developing Abilities

My nephew, Tyler, will have his 21st Birthday on April 16. I remember his birth like it was yesterday! He was so small and pink. He had (and still does) little stars in his beautiful, blue eyes. He also had his share of digestive and developmental challenges.

Two years later, Tyler was diagnosed with William's Syndrome.

My sister has done an amazing job of developing Tyler's abilities, and has enrolled him in a unique school this summer to advance his musical talent.

To all our Canadian friends:

We're celebrating Tyler's 21st Birthday with a fundraising event on April 16, 2010, at East Side Mario's in Waterloo, ON.

Hope to see you there!

It Only Takes One

I find it interesting that, ever since I made the decision to leave my journalism career (because of all the negativity), I have been attracting an abundance of positive media into my life.

What determines whether someone becomes a leader in life? Is it their genetics, their upbringing, their education, their peers?

More often than not, it just takes "one person" to influence our lives in a positive and lasting way.

I find the more I spend my time with positive, ambitious people who have a plan for their lives, the more positive and ambitious I become.

It's never easy to minimize our exposure to negativity, but I find the more I'm at least aware of it the easier it becomes.

Til next time,
Tanya
